Human Physiology
Faculty are encouraged to initiate human studies. Currently active studies
are investigating nerve stimulation to reduce arrhythmia vulnerability, Long
QT Syndrome, intravascular ultrasound, mechanisms of human repolarization,
innovative coronary interventions, and novel echocardiographic indices of
disease.
Health
Care Research and Policy
Research programs focus on issues in health care access, quality and outcome
of care, healthcare decision making, and systems of care and health policy.
Faculty use health services research methods that borrow and extend qualitative
methods from epidemiology, biostatistics, economics, sociology, and decision
science. Formal training is offered through a masters program in public health.
